About LASL

THIS PAGE IS BEING UPDATED.

LASL is incorporated under the Kansas Soccer Association (KSA), a private, non-profit 501(c) corporation organized to promote adult soccer in Kansas and affiliated with the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

LASL is the only organization in Lawrence that provides adult soccer activities. It started about 15 years ago and games were played at the Douglas County Fairgrounds (now a horse facility) and later at Maple Grove fields (now a cemetery). LASL then played at two fields located at the Clinton Outlet Park. For the last two seasons LASL has been making use of the Free State High School turf field and YSI.  This season we will also be using the Lawrence High School turf field thereby providing first rate fields for all games.  Outdoor soccer is played over two nine-week sessions, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. Games are played on Sunday’s (and some Saturday’s) in three separate leagues: Premier, Club and Recreational.

The Premier league is the most competitive league with a tournament based playing system.

The Club league is a little more relaxed (although at times just as competitive!!).

The Recreational league has recently been formed and is for those looking for a more relaxed, less competitive league to play in.

All leagues are open to men and women over the age of 16 (players under 18 are required to have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian - see Insurance and Waiver page).

There is also an indoor league that is played at the First Serve tennis facility on Clinton Parkway on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. The league is divided into an Adult and Women’s league.
