Five Rings Fencing was founded in 1997 specifically to teach the art and science of fencing as it came to me through an unbroken line of masters going down to the 1500's.  We take our name as a nod to the Olympic movement, with it's 5 interlocking rings, a nod to the great samurai warrior Musashi, who's wisdom survives in "The Book of Five Rings", and in the various styles and interests we have, summarized as five arts: modern sport, classical, historical, theatrical, and world swordsmanship.
